Paulistano, Europe Tour 1925

In 1925, Club Athletico Paulistano became the first Brazilian club to tour Europe. The touring party of 20 included 4 guest players from Flamengo, Santos and  Ypiranga, most notably Santos' legendary striker Araken.
They played France, Switzerland and Portugal and 7 matches with French clubs. Friedenreich scored a hat trick in the opening game as a French XI were beaten 7-1, leading the local press to dub Paulistano The Kings of Football.
Filó  would later return to Europe on a more permanent basis, winning the 1934 World Cup with Italy.
