Wales 1907

The British Home Championship  was introduced in the 1883–84 season. Up until 1906-07 the tournament had been dominated by Scotland (10 wins and 4 shared titles) and England (wins and 4 shared titles). Ireland joined these in a three way share in 1903.
Wales won their first British Home Championship in 1907.

Morgan-Owen and Meredith on the attack against England

Wales used 21 players in the campaign. The players were drawn from The First Division of the Football League (9), Welsh Clubs (5), The Second Division of the Football League (4), The Southern League (2), and English Amateur clubs (1).
Whereas some of the Welsh players are named as being with First Division English clubs, in some cases they were barely fringe  players, notable examples being Haydn Price (he was in Aston Villa's 3rd XI when he played for Wales) and  Horace Blew, who only played once for Manchester City.

Some of the Welsh players to feature in the Championship win:

Billy Lot Jones

Dickie Morris

Maddox Morgan-Owen

Leigh Richmond Roose

George Latham

Grenville Morris

Billy Meredith

Some trivia:
Leigh Richmond Roose was killed in action in 1916. He was, according to the Daily Mail (1905) London's second most eligible bachelor.
James Roberts was Bradford City's first international player.
Lloyd Davies was one of 4 brothers to be capped by Wales.
George Latham was a veteran of the Boer War. He coached the Great Britain team at the 1924 Olympics.
George Owen Williams was born in England (unknown to the Welsh FA). He was killed in action in 1916.
Dickie  Morris was a veteran of the Boer War.
Horace Blew made 22 international appearances but only played 2 Football League matches in his career. He became Mayor of Wrexham in 1923
Bobby Evans later represented England.
Grenville Morris still holds Nottingham Forest's all-time goal scoring record with 217 in all competitions.
Hugh and Maddox Morgan-Owen were gentleman amateurs who once turned down international call ups to play for Old Salopians.
