Some players from 1925...
Sam Chedgzoy (Everton & England). The man who exploited a loophole in the rewritten corner kick rule to dribble the ball goalward. The wording of the rule was hastily tightened up.
Hugh Ferguson (Cardiff City). The Scotsman is best known for his lucky goal in the 1927 FA Cup Final. He committed suicide in 1930.
Frank Osborne (Tottenham Hotspur & England ) South African Osborne was the first Fulham player to be capped by England (1922). Fulham were hard up, and they transferred him to Tottenham for £1,500 in January 1924. In 1925 he scored 3 hat-tricks in the space of 2 weeks.
Jimmy McClelland (Middlesbrough) McClelland ended his peripatetic career at Manchester United having played for Raith Rovers, Southend United, Middlesbrough, Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End, Blackpool and Bradford Park Avenue.
Jock McNab (Liverpool & Scotland) Joining the club at the ripe old age of 25, McNab made 222 appearances for Liverpool winning 2 First Division Championships. He was capped once by Scotland.
Willie Russell (Preston North End) Preston bought Russell from Airdrieonians at the beginning of the 1925 season.
